Hearing Aid Selection and Fitting
Selecting hearing aids is a combination of art and science. There is not one hearing aid that is correct for every patient. Purchasing hearing aids is not like buying a TV or an oven. Hearing aids are medical devices that are set specifically for an individual patient’s needs. Hearing aids are not something that can successfully be fit over the internet or by an untrained individual.
The most important component to the hearing aid selection process is relationship that is established between the patient and the audiologist. This involves finding out what the specific needs of the patient are. Hearing aids come in many shapes, sizes and technology levels. Without taking the time to get to know each patient as an individual, it is impossible to select a device that will work well. At Clarity Hearing we book an extended period of time in order to accomplish this.
Once we’ve covered all the difficulties and desires of the patient, the audiologist will prescribe a hearing aid that we feel will work the best.
